Maintenance notification - Amsterdam Data Center

Upcoming preventive maintenance in the AMS-3 Europe Building at our Amsterdam Data Center Campus

Event Date:
Saturday, June 18th at 18:00 until Sunday, June 19th at 01:00 (AMS time GMT +2)
Event Location: Amsterdam Data Center, AMS-3 Building Europe
Impact: 5 hour downtime window maximum

Event: During normal inspection procedures it was found that the UPS system in our AMS3 data center in Amsterdam is in need of an update to ensure stable power is continually supplied to our equipment. This is a part of our facilitys long-term asset management and replacement program.

Initially, our plan was to have this maintenance completed in (2) windows, one for each A and B side power migration. In our best effort to keep downtime to an absolute minimum, we have decided to invest in a way to minimize the downtime. We will have rack level ATSs (Automatic Transfer Switches) installed and ready for activation ahead of the initial Saturday maintenance window of 18:00 through 01:00 local time (GMT +2). Once power is removed during this window, our Data Center Operations team will switch our cabinet PDUs onto the ATSs and re-energize them. Not only will this significantly reduce downtime for all clients, but it will also prevent a similar maintenance from ever happening in the future.

We anticipate the downtime reduction to be from 5 hours to around 1 hour, however we are maintaining a 5 hour maintenance window to ensure enough time for any unforeseen issues to be addressed and corrected.
